Location: King William District; Where to Eat: Feast and Casa Azul de Andrea; Where to Stay: Hotel Emma
Having only lived in the Hill Country for just a few months, my husband and I have made the most of getting out and exploring our new home. That may also have to do with the fact that we are new owners of a classic Porsche and well it was meant for road trips! We are just an hour away from San Antonio. Many people think of and visit the San Antonio Riverwalk. Charming and romantic for sure and a really neat experience but it can get really crowded. We opted to look outside the usual spots and took a lovely walk in the King William District. It's adjacent to the trend Southtown neighborhood. We were blown away! Every house is either a beautiful Italiante, Antebellum, Victorian and Cottage styled homes all sitting on or near the river. With gardens to die for! Reminiscent of New Orleans, Charleston or Savannah but decidedly San Antonio. In fact, the King William District has been rated one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in America. Mark Twain said there were only four beautiful unique cities: New Orleans, San Francisco, Boston and San Antonio! So there you have it, endorsed by Mark Twain himself and countless travel publications. Go check it out if you have the chance to visit the very beautiful, romantic, charming and unique San Antonio!
