About a 30 minute drive from Wichita, you'll find the family owned Meadowlark Farm. We actually found out about it through a Little Lion Ice Cream Instagram post. Little Lion said they would be out there serving their new Pumpkin Flavored Ice Cream! We would follow them anywhere AND we needed some pumpkins! Meadowlark Farm has a pick your own pumpkin patch and a corn maze for the Fall season. In the Spring and Summer they have acres of peach and apple orchards. They also run a general store where you can pick up vegetables from their farm, eggs and other goodies. We got some fresh farm eggs and homemade bean salsa - both very delicious.
If you are from Wichita area and you haven't tried Little Lion Ice Cream yet, then you are missing out! Full of flavor and no sugar. They can be found at lots of local events. You'll see their cute little ice cream cart and the most adorable little lion statue. In fact, they have just an asbolutely adorable story. Can't wait for them to open up a shop! But for now you can buy pints of their ice cream at Farmshop, Reverie Coffe Shop and Espresso to Go Go.
A fashionista in the making. This is little Florence......and she had on the most adorable green mocassins. I seriously want a pair!
After finding some cute little pumpkins, we ventured into the corn maze. I'm always a little nervous I will never find my way out! Silly I know but I really get into it :)
Definitely kept my eye out for the Corn Maze Monster. I BELIEVE!
A close up of my adorable Cheetah Clutch. And there's a jeweled peacock fastened to the front! Combining 2 of my favorite animals! I bought this from The Pink Lilly in Wichita. She has a lot of cute clutches.
Off to the Peach Orchards. There weren't any left but I didn't care. I just love orchards. I want to own one some day. Olive Grove, peach, apple, orange, lemon.......any or all would be a dream come true!
EWE have got to be kidding me.....FARM ANIMALS!!! I made friends right away and was trying to figure out how to make them my pets.
What a wonderful day out in the countryside. Kansas may not have dramactic mountain scenery like Colorado, fall leaves like New Engalnd or beautiful colorful forests in the Smokey Mountains but there is something very beautiful about wide open spaces, the bluest sky you've ever seen and fresh country air. It's the simple things in life and there's beauty everywhere, even in the flatlands.
