Falling for Vail

October 25, 2016

Location: Vail Stables

Being from Oklahoma and married to a Texan, let's just say I've been on a horse a time or two. And I've been on some beautiful horseback adventures. BUT NOTHING like our recent trail ride with Vail Stables.  We not only had the best horseback riding experience of our lives it was also one of the most magical experiences I've ever had during my travels. I've spent a lot of time in Colorado during the winter, I've even made a few summer trips but I had never visited during the fall. So, I'm telling you GO during the fall, BOOK NOW for next year, don't put it off......Colorado in the fall is SPECTACULAR. And be sure to book a 2 hour horseback ride with Vail Stables. You can choose a shorter time but BELIEVE me you will want the longer trail ride. The staff is wonderful and the horses are beautiful, healthy, well behaved and very loved. Our horses were Dolly and Tom. When booking ask for NewNew. She's the best trail guide and loves her job. She made our already beautiful experience more rewarding with her knowledge, enthusiasm, friendliness and passion. The trail ride has an authentic old west vibe. After awhile, I started imagining I was settling the old west, that's how remote and peaceful your trail ride will be.....and get this, it's just 1 mile from Vail Village. We chose to walk from our hotel so we could take in all the fall foliage. The best part, it's a well kept secret (not many locals know about it), until now......
